Calls and formats
Answer in brief
Each kind of interview call changes how a copilot hears the question and what you can safely do on screen. These entries cover phone screens, video calls on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, and one-way recorded interviews.
What this hub covers
A phone screen, a video call and a recorded interview look similar on a calendar, but they work very differently for a copilot. On a phone call there is no screen to share, but the audio may never reach your computer. On a video call the audio is easy, but screen sharing needs care. In a one-way interview there is no person at all: questions appear on screen and a timer runs while the webcam records you.
Start with the format you have next: phone interviews, Zoom, Google Meet and Teams, or one-way video interviews.
Ask the recruiter two things
- How will we meet? A phone number, a meeting link, or a recorded interview platform. It is a normal question to ask when you confirm the time.
- Are there rules about tools? Some employers allow AI help, some ban it, and many say nothing. If it is banned, do not use a copilot.
